It is strange that no one has written a single review.
It is also strange that I watched the Russian dubbed version and the series with the original Japanese voice acting as two different series. No, of course, this is one series, but the atmosphere of the two versions is completely different. And for many reasons I liked the original an order of magnitude more, but that's not about that now.
The first season seems too childish and frivolous, sometimes even boring. Most of the series is a race for chaos emeralds and battles with Dr. Eggman. There is no particular variety to be observed, although there are series that go beyond the scope of this description. The entire first season is more like a game, frivolous, funny, but not causing violent emotions. I do not scold him, but he was tight for me.
The second season retells the plot of the games "Sonic Adventure" and "Sonic Adventure 2". They scold him mainly for the change in the events of the games, but the season still looks good, an order of magnitude higher than the first. Variety appears, and events become more serious. Heroes are revealed from a new angle. Tails shows independence, realizing that he cannot follow Sonic forever. Amy analyzes her love for Sonic for the first time, arguing that she will probably never keep up with him, but she will try. Chris is brought under control for his immaturity. Plus, he reveals himself as a lonely child who has been abandoned by his parents since childhood. Cream is shown as a strong girl who has to make a difficult choice between old friends and a new comrade. Etc.
The story of Shadow and Maria, even in a modified version, is tragic and touching. No less touching for the soul finale of the season. I can't help but look at the torment of Chris. He understands the need to part with friends, but he is afraid to be abandoned again, to become lonely again. It is hard to have parents who drop everything and fly to visit the child as soon as he has a low temperature, but who are always somewhere out there, far away, outside of his life, do not know and do not understand what he really needs.
The third season was not known to have been released in Japan, but aired on foreign channels. The place of action is no longer our world. Moreover, space travel, new worlds and planets have been added to the season. This time, the threat is inflated to a universal scale, and the main enemy is a mysterious race, whose plans are the destruction of all other species of life. Dr. Robotnik is still dirty, but his role as the enemy of the heads. heroes are noticeably shifted. The season falls out of the general picture of the series, it looks like some kind of experiment. In general, it is not bad, but something is already missing. Although it pleases that such a character as Tails is even better revealed in it, and Chris finally ceases to be a burden and an outside observer. Now he also contributes to the fight against enemies, although, to be honest, in the third season, he, more than ever, is out of place and looks superfluous in places. It's sad that the 4Kids version killed all the drama at the end. Touching and pure love in foreign versions (not Japanese) was killed in the bud, and the emotional "I love you" was replaced with a whining "Well, you're my friend"
All three seasons are difficult to combine with each other, as they are sovereignly different. As if the creators wanted to please everyone - first the children, so they made the first season too naive, then the fans of the game, transferring the plot of two "Adventures" to the screen, and then generally chasing fantastic adventures. Good or bad, everyone evaluates in their own way.
The voice acting and musical accompaniment bring a lot of pleasure. American, and after them, Russian children have lost a lot due to the fact that "4Kids" replaced all the tracks with some completely "left" ones. OSTs are quite harmonious and pleasant, and in some places the interweaving of music and unfolding events brings aesthetic pleasure. There weren't any voices chosen that were annoying (again, I'm talking about the Japanese voice acting), but I especially liked Chikao Otsuka, who voiced Eggman. In general, I like this version of Eggman more than all the others, more of a game version. In the anime, he is much more charming than his original counterpart, and his relationship with Sonic is more ambiguous. What is Eggman's behavior worth when he realized that Sonic might never return to his world. It seems that he does not even want to build Eggman's empire as much as he likes to fight the arrogant blue hedgehog. Or when he saved Sonic and Co. from a Metarex attack by disguising his ship as a Typhoon and taking the hit. This scene is generally extremely ambiguous, but it shows that Eggman does not want to leave Sonic to be torn apart by some arrogant race there, but prefers to defeat his worst enemy himself.
The show has no problem with humor. Although in some places the jokes are banal and primitive, there are also those from which I could not move away for a long time.
It would be strange in a review of the Sonic X series not to mention Sonic himself. I have mixed feelings about him. But I like his courage, perseverance, ingenuity (especially in the series with the eclipse of the sun, especially in the background with Knuckles). Even though he was aware that he was unable to deal with Dark Oak, he still tried to do his best. And his understanding of freedom makes you think about your own interpretation of this word. Although it was this factor that confused me the most. Sonic's words that he doesn't care what world to live in just show the manifestation of complete freedom, lack of attachment to any particular place. It's hard for me to understand.
For some reason, even realizing all the shortcomings, omissions and incidents of the series, I can not think badly about it. All these disadvantages practically did not affect my overall perception of anime. I treat him well, especially for the second season, for which I am ready to forgive him a lot.

In battle, it relies mainly on its speed, with which a rare opponent can compete. It can also control the energy of the Chaos Emeralds; with all seven, it turns into Super Sonic, able to fly, teleport and heal with a touch. It also has a Dark form.

As a child, I was a fan of Sonic, and I especially liked Tails in games. So in the anime, I was a little disappointed, because he is a fierce whiner there, and Sonic himself is a log. The drawing is very beautiful for its time, but the plot with the characters let us down. From time to time the same thing, Egman kidnaps someone, Tails whines, Emmy yells, Knuckles believes Egman's word for 100 times in a row, and every time he is fooled, and at the last moment sonic appears and saves everyone. To be honest, the template itself is a little silly even for children of 10-12 years old, I still remember how I was freaking out with the stupidity of knuckles and I was very annoyed by Sonic's CSF, especially. when everyone yells "It's sonic, it's sonic".
Season 2 turned out to be based on games, the adaptation came out not the worst, but sonic battles are too fast, especially if you have played games where bosses tore your 5th point before, and in the anime they were brought down in 1 minute.
Season 3, in my opinion, came out the most interesting, because the template has changed, the opponents have become stronger than the main characters, and in order to defeat them, many heroes had to unite, well, at the end of the anime
If you are not a fan of hedgehogs, this title is unlikely to work for you. Before talking about strong and weaknesses of this anime, it should be mentioned that the Western version of "Sonic X" was heavily modified when translated from Japanese to comply with strict television censorship. Therefore, in order to fully enjoy the series, I recommend watching the original version with some kind of subs.
With regards to the plot: season 1 (26 episodes) could not achieve the golden mean of the story and the search for the seven emeralds of chaos is mercilessly diluted with everyday life, whether it is an attempt to reveal the characters, or the lore of the universe itself, in any case it turned out just boring and watching so much water is simply not interested.
Over the script for season 2, we decided not to strain too much and adapted the ready-made stories from the Sonic Adventure games, without forgetting to shove the annoying Christopher Thorndike. I am glad that it is extremely rare to introduce Chris into the events taking place. In general, the second season looks dynamic and there are practically no complaints about it.
And finally season 3. This is where the creators' fantasy finally decided to roam and sent the characters on a journey through the galaxy in order to stop the sinister race of cyborgs destroying entire planets. Also, they managed to introduce quite serious dramatic moments that can evoke quite strong emotions and feelings.
So what do we have. Cheerful action with a pleasant (not always) humor, seasoned with a ton of fillers.

For me it's nostalgia
7 years ago I met with one toy, after that I became vehemently interested in the franchise.
Sitting on the Internet one day I came across such a thing as Sonic X, of course I was interested. This is a kind of "retelling" of adventure games about Sonic (at least season 1-2). After a long time, I still have warm feelings for this wonderful anime. It is not particularly necessary to go into the plot, you can turn it on and look at some kind of background while you are doing your own business, because even though it looks like a lamp, at some points you can fall into a deep sleep. In general, in particular, this anime should be watched by children 7-10 years old, because it will make a good opinion about themselves in the future.

Season 2: Eggman breaks the Prime Emerald and releases Chaos from it - the spirit of destruction. Eggman subjugates Chaos to himself and together with him begins the hunt for the Emeralds of Chaos and Sonic. With each swallowed emerald, Chaos became stronger. When Chaos got all 7 stones, he became invincible and decided to get rid of Eggman in order to use the power of the emeralds for his own purposes. After the victory over Chaos, a new intrigue arises around the Shadow project. Everyone is interested in the project - the government, Sonic with friends, and even Eggman himself, who hacks into the state network of computers and from there receives a file with information on the Shadow project. A little later, Eggman goes to Prison Island and frees Shadow.
