New high-speed electric trains run on domestic railways between St. Petersburg and Moscow. The speed of the Sapsan train is relatively high. This feature makes it possible to overcome long distances in a much shorter time. Gradually, their work is launched in new directions. The production was carried out by the German company Siemens.

What is the speed of the Sapsan train?

The Falcon, after which this machine is named, is capable of accelerating in flight up to 320 kilometers per hour. limit the possibility of acceleration to 250 km / h. Sapsan trains can reach 350 kilometers per hour.

Boarding starts 45 minutes before the departure of the train. After blocking the doors, the automation checks the operability of the entire system. Only then does the movement begin. "Sapsan" is the first Russian train, where the possibility of smoking is completely excluded. Today you can watch a whole series of several animated films "Peregrine Falcon and Friends". The train also has a Twitter account and its own blog.

Machinists "Sapsanov"

Train drivers of this class have a responsibility comparable to the work of real pilots. Their responsibilities include solving numerous problems enough high level difficulties. The speed characteristics are comparable with the modes of operation of airliners at the takeoff stage. Only the best candidates are selected for the position of driver of such a train. Specialists who have undergone special training are allowed to manage the Sapsan. All skills of machinists must be worked out to perfection.

Wi-Fi in "Sapsan"

Since 2012, attempts have begun to equip the train technical support, contributing to the possibility of obtaining wireless Internet access. Routers are installed in each Sapsan car. Business class passengers can use the Internet absolutely free of charge. Citizens traveling in economy mode are forced to pay for access.

bistro car

The speed of the Sapsan train, as well as streamlined shapes, are far from all that makes it unusual. Each passenger can use a comfortable bistro car. Here you can not only have a snack, but even order a full meal. Drinks, hot meals, as well as snacks are available for train passengers to choose from.

Transportation of small animals

The speed of the Sapsan train is quite high, but this does not affect the possibility of equipping premises for transporting animals. Transportation is allowed in cages, baskets or boxes not exceeding 180 cm when summing up the length, width and height. In this case, you must have documents from the veterinarian with you. Registration will cost 400 rubles. This is a fixed mandatory fee for issuing an electronic ticket or travel document.

Baggage screening

Starting from the first start of the train, each passenger must undergo a scan of the items being transported. Increased safety during travel is guaranteed to passengers, despite the short duration of the entire check-in procedure.

hand luggage

Passengers have the possibility of transportation on one ticket. The weight of the cargo should not exceed 36 kilograms, and the sum of all measurements - 180 cm. Above the established norm, you can carry fishing rods, cameras, binoculars, handbags, briefcases, umbrellas and other small things, the size of which is not more than a meter with a general measurement of dimensions.

Oversized equipment cannot be loaded as hand luggage. Other people's things, explosive, flammable, poisonous, flammable, fetid substances are not accepted for transportation. Firearms must be in a holster, case or case separate from the cartridges in an unloaded state. Only after observing all the above rules, passengers can use the Sapsan high-speed train to transport small-sized cargo (the speed that it can develop is indicated above).

Group travel

A group fare is provided for the travel of schoolchildren from 10 to 18 years old, consisting of at least 10 people traveling on the same date, on the same route, on the same train. Registration takes place by prior request. A group fare is provided for the travel of at least 10 children under 10 years old, traveling in the same train, on the same date, on the same route. It is also issued upon prior request.

Conclusion

The possibilities of using the railway as a transportation option are rapidly developing. One example of this is the magnificent machines developed by the German manufacturer Siemens. Each passenger will definitely be pleased with the comfortable conditions of movement and the high speed of the Sapsan train. The developers have proposed a solution for almost all possible problems that arise in the process of overcoming distances, and combined them in one design solution. The new ones offered to the citizens of Russia leave the best impressions of the trip.

"Sapsan" is a modern high-speed electric train manufactured by the German company Siemens. It was acquired by Russian Railways and began operating in 2009. A similar name was given to the train in Russia, and in the original source the name sounds like Velaro RUS. You can also mention the fact that Sapsan, during his service, inspired the creation of a blog and a page on Twitter.

Where did the name of the Sapsan train come from?

The train was named after the peregrine falcon: hunting, it can reach speeds of up to 322 km / h. Even for the Falcon family, this is a rarity. This name is the best suited for the fastest train in Russia.

Specifications

"Sapsan" has a number of differences from other trains of the Velaro family:

  • air intakes placed on the roof;
  • can work at ultra-low temperature;
  • the cabin is 30 m larger than its European counterpart.

The length of the Sapsan is 250 m, the number of wagons is 10.

The cars are perfectly air-conditioned, and the aisles are wide and there is no crush when leaving. The train has excellent sound insulation - this means that nothing will interfere with the rest of passengers in comfortable chairs.

The maximum speed of the Sapsan

The maximum speed that the Sapsan can develop, 350 km/h. Moreover, the permissible speed indicator on the railways of Russia is 200 km / h. And only on the Mistinsky bridge is it allowed to increase the speed to 250 km / h. On the route Moscow- Nizhny Novgorod, from Petushki to Vyazniki station it is permissible to accelerate only up to 160 km / h. On the day, "Sapsan" makes 6 flights back and forth.

Trip duration

Flights Moscow-St. Petersburg Sapsan train passes from 3 hours 40 minutes to 4 hours 10 minutes. It all depends on the number of stops along the way. The length of the route Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod takes 3 hours 55 minutes.

Differences between Economy and Business class

First, you should focus on the price indicator. The cost of an economy class ticket varies between 2,406 - 3,600 rubles, and a trip in business class will cost an order of magnitude more - 4,750 - 6,680 rubles.

Service list provided to business class passengers and differences with economy class;

  • Business class provides absolutely free WI-FI, while economy class passengers will have to pay for it.
  • Each seat in business class is equipped with a socket, while in economy class you can be content with only two for the entire carriage.
  • A number of services are provided for business class: fresh press, hygiene kit, hot lunch, one serving of alcohol, tea, fresh coffee, lots of drinks, various toys and entertainment for children. All this is missing in economy class.

Incidents during the operation of the Sapsan train

Peregrine Falcon is able to develop tremendous speed and, of course, there have been accidents. Not for nothing in some media he was nicknamed the White Death. One of the main causes of accidents was the lack of crossings through railways and high speed. Due to the noiseless movement, compared to other trains, pedestrians could not always notice its approach in time.

But in many cases, the cause was ordinary human inattention and violation of the rules for crossing paths. During the first year of the train's operation, about 20 people died. Even taking into account the security measures taken in 2010-2011. What included: construction of fences along the railway branches, equipping the decks with special signaling equipment, patrolling by the guards of dangerous areas. To date, the percentage of accidents is extremely high.

What is a bistro car?

Despite the short trip, many passengers may get hungry. It was for this purpose that the bistro car was created. It is located in the center of the train, in car number 5. Here you can fully relax and unwind with a cup of tea or coffee, take a small amount of alcoholic and soft drinks. And also, for a light snack, there are various hot dishes, snacks and desserts. Those who like to dine while admiring beautiful paintings can stay closer to the window. The car is equipped with ten tables near the window each. If you do not intend to linger and just came to have a bite, then there are two bar counters for you.

Passengers with health problems or who simply do not want to leave their seats can always ask Sapsan employees to buy and bring them food or drinks.

The main advantage of the Sapsan express train for passengers are: speed, quietness and comfort. Despite the high rate of tragic cases associated with his movement, he is at the peak of popularity. In general, we can say that the Sapsan high-speed train is one of the fastest and most convenient options for moving from one city to another.

What is it: a bird of prey from the falcon family and an ultra-high-speed train connecting the capital of our country with foggy St. Petersburg? Of course, we are talking about the Sapsan, which since 2009 has been running between the capital and the northern capital.

The speed developed by the Sapsan trains can be envied by many European trains, which is no wonder: the authorship of the railway bird of prey belongs to the famous Siemens company. And the choice of the name itself also becomes clear, because the peregrine falcon is the fastest bird in the world.

The Sapsan is capable of reaching speeds of up to 350 km/h, but due to regulations and safety precautions, it is not yet allowed to travel faster than 250 km/h on Russian railways. In the future, it is planned to increase the speed in some areas to dashing 330 km/h. And, by the way, despite its European origin, the Sapsan is imprisoned exclusively for Russia. For example, the train is able to operate at temperatures down to -50 °C, and its interior is almost 30 cm wider. Which, of course, is due to the wider railway track.

As a rule, all "Peregrine Falcons" consist of 10 wagons capable of accommodating 506 passengers. (Although recently twin trains have been running between St. Petersburg and Moscow more and more often.) Traditionally, Sapsan includes one first class car, one business class car, 7 economy cars and one bistro car.

Thanks to modern noise-insulating materials, as well as soft flooring, these trains, alas, will not give fans of railway romance languid minutes alone with the “quiet-tidy”: it is very quiet inside the train.

But let's talk in more detail about the actual location of the passenger - that is, about his seat. All of them have adjustable backrests, footrests, a reading lamp, folding tables and armrests. The first and business class can boast of leather upholstery, in economy - fabric, no less comfortable, by the way. Around - pleasant pastel colors of the walls and panoramic windows with sun shades. It will not be possible to draw patterns on misted glass in winter: they are specially heated by circulating warm air. But in the summer, no one will die from stuffiness - a comfortable climate in the cars is maintained using an electronic climate system. In summer and winter, the temperature is around +22 °C.

You can place your belongings both above the seat, where there is a luggage rack for small bags, and in a special luggage compartment that each car has. Additional features: a shoe shine machine in 3 cars, a changing table in the toilet of the 6th car, and a toilet for passengers with limited mobility in the middle of the train. And, of course, the bistro car, which is located in the central part of the train. Here you can have a snack standing at the bar table or sit down at one of the 10 tables.

Sapsan operates seven daily flights from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back. The fare depends on the time of year, seasonality and class of travel.

This is the Russian version of reliable trains that work reliably on high-speed lines in Europe. The closest relative of the Sapsan is Intercity-Express.

Manufactured by Siemens Corporation.

Temperatures from -50 to +40 degrees do not frighten him.

Train length - 250 m, consisting of 10 wagons. (1 first class carriage, 1 business class carriage, 7 economy class carriages and a bistro carriage). Their manufacturing technology is closer to aviation, so the Sapsan weighs less than conventional trains.

All technical devices “ride” either on the roof of the car or under it, and the space inside is completely given to passengers.

Why was the Sapsan high-speed train called that?

There is a fast and beautiful bird- peregrine falcon. When hunting, she can reach speeds of more than 300 km / h. This is the same rarity for the bird world as the Sapsan high-speed train for the railways we are used to.

The maximum speed of conventional trains is up to 140 km/h.

How fast is the Sapsan going?

Technically, a train can reach speeds of up to 300-350 km/h, but on Russian railways it is still limited to 250 km/h.

The average speed of the Sapsan train in the direction of St. Petersburg - Moscow is about 200 km / h.

On the section Okulovka - Malaya Vishera maximum speed Sapsan trains - 230-240 km/h.

Between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, Sapsan reduces the speed to 160 km/h.

What is the speed of the train on the way, you can always see on a special board inside each car.

On the route Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod "Sapsan" on the way is 3 hours. 55 min.

Where and when was the first Sapsan high-speed train launched?

On the main course of the Oktyabrskaya railway, between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Now it became possible to choose whether to fly by air or by land: less than 4 hours from the center of one capital to the center of another without traffic jams and waiting at airports.

Safety near Sapsan

While driving on high speed a strong air current is formed around the train, similar to, for example, a tornado. He is able to capture and tighten various objects under the composition. A person for this phenomenon is also an object not too large.

If you are standing on the platform and hear the announcer's warning about the passage of the Sapsan or the signal of the train itself, move away from the edge.

This phrase was not invented in vain. The safe distance is about 3 meters.

Platforms vary in width, so the farther you go, the better.

We won’t even talk about the fact that you shouldn’t try to outwit a high-speed train and try to run across in front of him.

The braking distance of the Sapsan at a speed of 200 km / h is about 2 kilometers.

The Sapsan is a bullet train manufactured by Siemens and powered by electricity. It was purchased joint stock company"Russian Railways" for the implementation of high-speed transportation of passengers on the territory of the Russian Federation. The train got its name from the peregrine falcon.

The history of Sapsan in Russia begins with an agreement on the joint development and production of a series of 60 trains based on Intercity-Express, which was signed on April 11, 2005. Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder took part in this event. The contract amount was 1.5 billion euros, and production was planned to be located in Russia. This type trains, according to the terms of reference, had to reach a speed of at least 300 km / h.

However, these plans were not destined to come true. After the change of management of Russian Railways and the coming to power in the company of Vladimir Yakunin, significant adjustments were made to the contract. Thus, the number of purchased trains decreased to 8 units, and the contract amount - up to 600 million euros. According to the new conditions, the production of trains should be carried out exclusively by a German company, and its implementation and delivery to the customer should have occurred before the end of 2010. In addition, it provided service maintenance trains for a period of up to 30 years or a mileage of up to 14 million kilometers.

These trains were planned to replace the obsolete ER-200 high-speed locomotives on the railway lines, which have been in operation since the 80s of the last century.

According to the terms of the contract signed by Russian and German enterprises, it was planned to supply 2 types of trains:

Single-system trains with a voltage of 3 kV DC (version B1), which were supposed to be used on the railway line between St. Petersburg and Moscow;

Dual-system trains (having dual power) with a voltage of 3 kV DC and 25 kV AC (version B2), which were supposed to be launched on the direction of St. Petersburg - Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod.

To create these railway lines, Japanese metallurgists (Nippon Steel) supplied Russia with rails with a total weight of more than 20,000 tons.

In fact, the Sapsan train is a modernized and customized train of the standard Velaro platform manufactured by Siemens. Certain additions were made to the design. So, the operating temperatures for the Sapsan were significantly expanded, and now it can operate in conditions down to -50º C. In addition, the width of the cars was also increased by 0.3 m, which was primarily due to the greater width than in Europe railway gauge used in the Russian Federation.

"Sapsan" is very fast. It is capable of carrying passengers at a speed of 350 km/h, but in Russia its speed is artificially limited to 250 km/h. In the future, on certain sections of Russian Railways, it is planned to allow the train to move at a speed of 330 km/h. It consists of 10 cars that can accommodate 554 passengers and their luggage. The wagons are made of aluminium.

Sapsan carried out its first flight between St. Petersburg and Moscow in July 2009, and since December of this year it began to make regular flights.

The history of "Sapsan" has only one decade, but during this time these trains have already managed to prove themselves. Appreciating their quality, Russian Railways in December 2011 concluded a new contract with Siemens for the supply of 8 more Sapsan trains (project Velaro RUS). Contract price including trains and their Maintenance, amounted to 600 million euros.

The first train under the new contract was delivered to the Russian railway December 3, 2013. By August 2014, 12 Sapsan trains carried passengers across Russia.
