One of the largest regional grocery retailers in Siberia, the Holiday Classic Group of Companies, is opening a new chain of discount stores, Continent-Siberia reports. On December 1, 7 stores under the Boom brand will be launched. It is assumed that in terms of price positioning the network will not only be lower than Holiday itself, but also than Holdy Discounter.

The information that the Holiday Group is indeed launching a new chain of stores was confirmed by a source close to the company to KS. According to available information, the project is pilot in nature. On December 1, 7 new outlets will be opened - 2 in Novosibirsk, 3 in Novokuznetsk, one each in Biysk and Barnaul. In all cases, we are talking about the launch of new sites, and not the reformatting of existing stores. Some of the new points will be located on the first line of highways (as in Novosibirsk, for example), some - on the second and third - in places with low rent.

In Novosibirsk, the first store will be opened on Energetikov Avenue in the building of the former Domocentr (FORMA) hypermarket, next to Lenta and not far from Siberian Giant. The second store, according to available data, will be located in the area of Gusinobrodskoye Highway and a flea market in a separate building not far from the Zimushka fur center.

It is assumed that in terms of price positioning the new chain will not only be lower than Holiday itself, but also than Holdy Discounter. In fact, this format can be considered an analogue of the Svetofor network. Also, the Mayak store, launched in the fall, can act as a competitor. current year on the left bank of Novosibirsk.

The concept of the new network provides for a store-warehouse format with a limited assortment and a small margin, which allows keeping prices low. It is noteworthy that many suppliers of the new network were not previously active partners of the Holiday Group.

There should be no internal competition between Boom and Holdy Discounter, since the latter, most likely, may soon move to a higher price segment, being called Holdy RF.

Recall that the Holiday Group is currently the largest retail chain in Siberia. It was founded in 2000 by Nikolai Skorokhodov together with partners in the Land investment group. About 500 stores of the group are located in seven regions of Russia: Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk and Tyumen regions, as well as in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk regions.

Earlier, KS sources reported that the Holiday Group would change owners by the end of the year. According to preliminary data, Nikolai Skorokhodov will retain the Holdy Discounter and Farmer Center brands, and the rest of the business will be sold. Initially, it was assumed that Magnit would be the buyer, but in the end, according to KS sources, it will be a partial sale of the network to three federal retailers at once - Lenta, Magnit and X5 Retail Group. In particular, the Lenta chain, in particular, at the beginning of November officially announced the purchase of 22 supermarkets under the brands Holdy, Kora and Holiday Classic with a total area of about 40 thousand square meters. meters in Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Barnaul. The deal is estimated at up to 3 billion rubles.

On July 25, 2018, the bankruptcy proceedings of the company began. Court of Arbitration introduced a six-month follow-up
