Latvian Post is the national communications operator of the Republic of Latvia. This is an open joint stock company state form property that specializes in providing postal, philatelic, financial services, retail presses. The company works with individuals and legal (state and commercial) persons.

Brief historical background

The founding date of the state enterprise Latvijas Pasts is January 2, 1992. After the state gained independence, the “Latvian Post” was entrusted with the function of providing postal shipments of all categories within the country and abroad.

  • In 1994, the Law “On Post” appeared in Latvia, which dealt with the assignment of postal state enterprise other status - a state institution.
  • 1997 was marked by new innovations: the country's post became non-profit organization– state joint stock company. From 2004 to the present day, it has been functioning as an open joint stock company.
  • In 2004, Latvian Post was issued a universal license for the provision of postal services, which meets the requirements of the European Union.
  • In 2015, an agreement was signed with the Universal Postal Union, thanks to which tracking became available to customers of the Latvian Post postal items by ID (track number).

Latvian Post has two subsidiaries: AS IT Latvia and SIA Mailmaster. In general, it contains 620 branches, where about 4.2 thousand employees work.

Sending parcels from Latvia and to its territory

The Post of the Republic of Latvia provides its customers with the opportunity to forward several types of items:

  1. Unregistered - those that cannot be traced and that are delivered to the recipients' mailboxes: postcards, letters, parcels and packages marked "M" containing printed materials.
  2. Registered - those that are traceable and for which a receipt is issued: postcards, letters, parcels and packages marked "M" with printed materials, postal parcels with industrial, household and other goods with / without commercial value.
  3. Insured - those that can be traced and for which a special document has been issued for insurance against loss, damage, theft: letters, small packages and postal parcels with items that have / do not have commercial value.

Latvian post provides for the possibility to make shipments at any of the post offices. Anyone who plans to send a parcel abroad must fill out the CP71 form (if the addressee is in one of the EU countries) or the CP72 form (if the addressee is outside the European Union).

To speed up the passage customs control each of the forms must be completed in three languages: English, French and the official language of the state where the parcel is sent.

To process the departure, you must have an identity card with you: passport, driver's license.

To speed up the processing of an international parcel, each sender has the opportunity to use the free self-service system Mans Pasts. On this site, by registering, you can:

  • find in in electronic format documents that are necessary for processing a parcel abroad, fill in and print them;
  • enter and save personal data about yourself, which will be used when processing subsequent mailings;
  • make payment online.

Documents for registration of international shipments should be printed on white A4 paper. Completed forms and self-packaged parcels must be handed over out of turn to the operator of any post office.

Many people are interested in the question of how much a parcel goes from Latvia to Russia or any other country. Senders have the opportunity to issue a class A (priority) or class B (economical) parcel.

Domestic priority parcels are delivered within 1-3 business days. International priority shipments may take approximately 7-11 business days to ship. They are transported mainly by air carriers. Economy shipments take longer.

The management of Latvian Post offers customers the opportunity to use express delivery services. This is a paid service that provides the fastest delivery of parcels to more than 56 countries of the world within 4-7 business days.

You can learn more about how express mail works by clicking on the link.

Send a parcel to Riga (or another Latvian city) from Russian Federation(for example, from Moscow) can be done through the Russian Post. The sender will need to fill out a customs declaration in triplicate in Latin letters.

If the value of the parcel is up to 300 SDR (special drawing rights), form CN22 is filled out, and if it is above 300 SDR, form CN23 is filled out. The form indicates the category of the shipment, lists the names of the items contained in the parcel, their value. You can issue a shipment either directly at the post office or online.

To send a letter to Latvia, you need to correctly fill out the envelope. The recipient's data in Latvian is indicated on the front side:

  • name and surname;
  • Street, house, flat;
  • city, index;
  • country.

On the reverse side, the sender's data is entered (see the completed envelope).

Many foreign senders are faced with a situation where the index of the Latvian recipient is unknown. The Latvian Postal Administration solved the problem by posting on the company's website an electronic version of the book containing the current postal codes in Latvia. You can view it.

How to send a parcel to Latvia

As in the post offices of Latvia, in other countries, including the Russian Federation, you can choose several delivery methods for parcels and other items. So, for example, “Russian Post” allows you to make regular, expedited and courier (express) shipments.

Courier express shipments are considered the most convenient way of delivery abroad. Couriers pick up parcels in places convenient for senders and deliver them to recipients at the specified addresses. Such parcels are registered, they can be tracked by knowing the track number. Express delivery to Latvia often takes 4 to 7 working days.

Unregistered shipments in the Republic of Latvia are delivered to the address indicated in the "Recipient" column. If they cannot fit in mailboxes, postal employees leave parcel notices with information on where they can be picked up for recipients.

If the recipient does not request the shipment within 5 working days, a second notification will be sent to him. If no one comes for the parcel within 30 days from the date of issuance of the first notification to the addressee, it is returned to the sender.

Registered and insured shipments are delivered to the specified addresses and handed over personally to the recipients. If the addressee was absent at the time of the arrival of the postman, he will be left with a notice of the parcel, with which he must contact the specified post office.

If the recipient does not pick up the parcel after 7 working days, he will be sent a second notification, and after 30 working days from the moment the first notification was sent, they will issue a return to the sender's address.

To receive an unregistered shipment, only a mail notification is required. To pick up a registered or insured shipment, you need to present a notice (or tell the track number of the parcel) and a passport to the post office employee.

With a driver's license, you can only receive a parcel that is valued at less than 150 euros.

If the parcel is sent to a legal entity, one of its representatives can receive it. You will need to present your passport and a power of attorney to receive a postal item, certified by the head of the organization.

How to track the package

Tracking mail is a convenient tool for controlling their movement. To do this, you need to know the track number of the parcel. It is assigned to each registered and insured item at the time of registration by the sender at the post office.

There are several ways to track a parcel from Latvia:

  • on the Latvian Post website;
  • on the Mans Pasts website;
  • on specialized intermediary electronic resources: Where is the parcel, Postal Ninja, 1trak.ru and others;
  • through the “Parcels” application installed on a smartphone (you can download it in the AppStore and GooglePlay).

To find out the current status of a postal item, you need to enter its track number in the appropriate column.

Some trading platforms provide their customers with the opportunity to track packages with items purchased from them directly on their websites. For example, tracking packages from China that contain products from AliExpress is available at this link.

Varieties of track numbers

The track number format for international mail from Latvia is the same. Each number consists of 13 characters:

  • if the shipment weighs up to 2 kg, the track number starts with the letter R: for example, RA123456785LV;
  • for parcels weighing from 2 to 20 kg, track numbers begin with the letter C: CD123456785LV;
  • express shipment is indicated by the first letter E in the track number: EE123456785LV.

The numbers for each shipment are unique. The track number of "Latvian Post" at the end contains two Latin letters - LV. They indicate the country from which the parcel was sent.

Latvia LV1000: what kind of post office is this

The main branch of Latvian Post is located at:

Ziemeļu iela 10,

Riga airport, Marupe region

Here is also located Main office Latvian Post. The Latvia LV1000 branch receives all postal items that are transported through the country, that is, for which the Republic of Latvia acts as a transit state.

Why parcels are sometimes delayed in Latvia

The reasons that postal items addressed to other countries enter the territory of Latvia may be the following circumstances:

  1. The Republic of Latvia plays the role of an intermediate (ie transit) country. In the near future, the departure should leave the territory of Latvia and go to the destination.
  2. The sender incorrectly indicated the country when registering the parcel. For this reason, parcels often arrive at the Latvian Post offices with Aliexpress.

If a package with goods purchased on AliExpress is delayed at a postal warehouse in Latvia (it stays in the country from 2 to 3 weeks), you need to contact the seller to clarify if he made a mistake in the recipient's address. If the seller does not respond to messages or constantly extends the protection period for the package and asks to wait for it, you can contact the support service of the trading platform. For this you should:

  1. Scroll through the main page of the Aliexpress website, reaching the menu below.
  2. Select "Support".
  3. Click the "Online Chat" button.
  4. Indicate "My orders" in the "Select the type of question" item.
  5. Select "Check orders" in the column "Question category".
  6. Mark the question "Why is my order frozen" in the "Your question" section.
  7. Click on the "Live Chat" button that appears.
  8. State the essence of your problem in the dialog box that opens.

If the seller ignores the buyer's messages, you will most likely have to open a dispute on your order.

Parcels go through Latvia with Aliexpress: Video

Our compatriots, having quickly realized how profitable it is to order goods on large trading platforms, actively use the services of AliExpress, eBay, etc. Having ordered the goods, the consumer has the opportunity to track the movement of the parcel. One of the places where the goods sent by mail can be is Latvia LV1000 - where this branch is located and what it is, read on.

Latvia LV 1000 - what is this branch?

Until the parcel gets to the recipient, it takes a long time and in some places even thorny path. Postage is not always on the way. From time to time, the parcel makes stops at sorting points. Getting to such places - nodal offices, parcels are grouped and sent along specified routes.

Departures, moving to Russia, Ukraine or Belarus, often go through Latvia - of course, the route is chosen as the shortest and most profitable.

Latvia LV1000 is just one of the many transit sorting centers where shipments make a forced "halt".

The Latvia LV1000 branch is entrusted with the function of trunk transportation, from here postal packages are sent to one of the countries of destination:

  • Russia;
  • the Republic of Belarus;
  • Ukraine.

This branch is served by the Latvian postal service.

Why did the parcel end up in Latvia?

When placing an order somewhere on Aliexpress, users have no idea which way the package will go. Yes, it's basically nothing for them. Until he gets stuck. Without receiving an order, users begin to track the path of the postal item. And they are surprised to learn that it is stuck in Latvia.

Many users from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine have to deal with the separation of the Latvia LV1000. Why is this happening? It's just that many sellers from China send goods through transit countries, in this case through Latvia. A postal item passing through the territory of this Baltic country contains the ZB ... LV or ZA ... LV marking in its track number.

You can contact the Latvian post:

  • through the website www.pasts.lv;
  • by phone: +371 67008001 or +371 27008001;
  • by email:

Where is the branch located?

There are only a few transit offices on the territory of Latvia, among which is the LV1000 we are considering. If we compare them with automated sorting centers (ASC) operating in Russia, then their volumes are relatively small.

Address where the Latvian ASC LV1000 is located: Riga, Marupes Street, Riga International Airport.

How to find out where the package is?

To track their goods shipped by Russian Post through Latvia, the user must go to one of the tracking sites, for example https://track24.ru. By entering the postal identifier of the order in the appropriate field and clicking on the "Track the parcel" button, the customer can find out as much useful information as possible.

What can be tracked by ID:

  • where and at what time the parcel was sent;
  • where she is currently.

Reasons for the delay

Not having received an envelope or parcel within the expected time, customers naturally begin to get nervous. When they find out with the help of the corresponding application that their order is stuck somewhere in Latvia, they are nervous or indignant. But it should be remembered: the parcel will arrive sooner or later, and any delay has objective reasons.

Many users waiting for a parcel stuck in the transit office are trying to find out the exact reason for the delay in order to better control the situation.

Why is the package "stuck":

  1. The shipment is actually already in the recipient's country, but its track number is not tracked. In such a situation, the user thinks that his order is still on the Latvian sort. But in fact, the parcel has long left the transit center, is on the road and is moving towards its recipient. As a rule, such problems happen with orders that have free shipping, - for such parcels, sellers do not order the tracking function.
  2. Tracking provides outdated information. It happens that the entire path traveled by the parcel is displayed on the resource after it arrives to the recipient.
  3. Transport, which delivers mail from Latvia to Russia, is overloaded and does not have time to take out all postal cargo in a timely manner.
  4. During the sorting and distribution of parcels in an automated transit center, a breakdown or failure occurred, resulting in a delay in dispatch.

If the user knows, at least approximately, how much the parcel is sent from point A to point B, then any delay will be immediately noticed by him. If his order is stuck in Latvia for one of the above reasons, nothing terrible has happened. The only thing to do in such a situation is to be patient and wait, after a while the package will reach the recipient.

When to start getting nervous?

Don't worry ahead of time. It's just an item, and your health is priceless. you use modern services and opportunities for the sake of your comfort, not for your worries.

If the track code cannot be tracked for more than two weeks, both on the tracking site and on the trading platform website, then you can start a dispute and demand a refund of the money spent.

What do users say if shipments do not arrive?

It is widely believed among Russian users that Latvian post is one of the worst. There are many complaints about the LV1000 branch. Here, according to customer reviews from Ali, parcels can “fall out of time” for a month or two. At the same time, the status may not be tracked for a long time until it changes to “Sent to the country of destination”.

Knowing the location of the parcel and the reasons for its delay, the consumer of postal services can keep the situation under control. In the event of unresolvable situations, demand full compensation for damages.

Recent years have been marked by a rapid growth in the number of purchases from China and Europe through trading platforms such as AliExpress or eBay. However, very often when tracking parcels, questions arise about the location and operation of various route nodes.

In the article we will tell you what the Latvia LV1000 center is, where it is located and why the parcel can get stuck there for a long time.

Post Office Latvia LV-1000

What is this department?

Branch Latvia LV1000 - is a transit sorting center, which is served by the Latvian postal service. This center performs only the function of trunk transportation - sending the package directly to the country of destination (RF, RB, Ukraine).

Many users from Russia, Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus are faced with a similar item. The thing is that some sellers from China may not send their goods directly to the recipient, but use transit country- in our case, Latvia. If your purchase goes through Latvia to Russia, then the symbols in the track number will include the symbols ZA…LV or ZB…LV.

By the way, here are the contacts of the Latvian post: website - www.pasts.lv; telephones: +371 27008001 and +371 67008001; e-mail: [email protected]

Where is?

There are not so many processing departments in Latvia, and they do not process large volumes (compared to Russian ASCs). The Latvia LV1000 center is located at the address: Riga International Airport, Riga, Marupes.

It is noteworthy that there is no specifically zero branch with the number "1000" in Latvia. But it is logical to assume that the transit center is located within the Riga airport. Of the branches registered there, there is only LV-1053. My opinion is that index 1000 is virtual and simply means transit.

Why is the parcel stuck in Latvia?

This is the most common question that many clients ask with a hint of a nervous breakdown. A lot of people faced such a problem - the parcel arrived in Latvia and got stuck there. Here are the main reasons:

Results

Now you know what the point of transfer Latvia LV-1000 means and that it is located in Latvia. Also, you know why the package could be delayed at this point. I did not begin to describe a completely stupid situation when the seller sent the parcel not to the Russian Federation at all, but to Latvia. In this case, you need to wait for the deadline and open a dispute.

The issues of the speed of delivery of goods with Aliexpress always remain the most relevant. Fast delivery is important both for buyers in order to receive the goods faster, and for sellers and the Aliexpress administration in order to receive money faster. Therefore, the site is constantly starting to cooperate with new delivery services, which are not yet loaded with a stream of parcels and can quickly deliver shipments to Russia and the CIS countries.

And one of these services has recently become the post of Latvia. Now a lot of buyers get tracks ending in LV. Parcels go from China to Riga and then to Russia. And delivered further by Russian Post.

Track ZA…LV. Tracking

This track number is an unregistered shipment with partial tracking. That is, you will see statuses for China, then the status of receiving a parcel in Latvia. And then about the arrival at the post office and about receiving the parcel.

That is, this method of sending is budgetary. With all the risks involved.

If a ZA…LV format track is not tracked

  • - If there is not a single record in the tracking within 2 weeks after sending the parcel, then write to the seller, he may have forgotten to send the parcel or it was lost in the post office.
  • - If no tracking status appears 14 days after shipment, and the seller did not help, then you can
  • - If the parcel is stuck at any of the stages of delivery, then it will be necessary to open a dispute no earlier than 2-3 days before the delivery deadline.

Latvian mail parcel stuck with track ZA…LV

Basically, at the first stages of delivery, when the parcel is being transported by Cainiao from China to Latvia, the tracking status changes very cheerfully. And there are enough of them. Further, after receiving the parcel in Latvia, there will be very few records in the tracking. And in Russia there are only two statuses. Therefore, buyers get scared when tracking freezes. But really the package is coming by recipient's country. It just doesn't show up in tracking. And the journey can take from 3 to 21 days. Depending on the region and mail load.

But you need to follow the track number. Immediately, as soon as the status “Arrived at destination” appears in the details of the order for Aliexpress and you will receive a letter with a notification of this status to your email inbox, this will mean that the parcel has arrived at your post office. And you can go get the shipment. Or wait for a notice for a large parcel. small package will be delivered directly to your mailbox.

Tracking statuses:

In China:

  • - Parcel information received- the seller booked the track number

Problem states:

  • - Parcel returned- the mail returned the parcel or the room reservation was canceled.

Statuses about the passage of intermediate points:

  • - left the waypoint
  • - Arrived at waypoint Aliexpress

Export-import stage:

  • - Export from the country of departure - parcel left China
  • - Import to destination country - the parcel arrived in Latvia
