At present, there is no clear definition of what a virtual exhibition is. Tutorial N. V. Zbarovskaya “Exhibition activities of public libraries” gives the following definition: “ Virtual exhibition is a new type of information and library service for users, a synthesis of traditional (book) and the latest (electronic) ways of providing information.

A virtual exhibition is a public demonstration on the Internet using web technologies of virtual images of specially selected and systematized printed works and other media, as well as public electronic resources recommended for viewing, familiarization and use by remote library users.

The virtual exhibition is positioned as a new, multifunctional information resource, which provides a wide range of users with the opportunity to increase the efficiency of information retrieval, expand the range of necessary materials(texts, graphics, audio, video, etc.).

The first virtual exhibitions appeared within the framework of the project of Internet resources of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia. The resource involves placing information on virtual exhibition stands (mini-sites) in Russian and English to promote and share business information about enterprises and organizations, their products and services. graphic and video materials. In the context of the development of new information technologies, virtual exhibitions appear in the field of culture and education: museums, universities, libraries of all types.

Virtual exhibitions represent the library fund, contribute to the formation and maintenance of the image, development and improvement of the library service.

Advantages and possibilities of a virtual exhibition:

1. To view the exhibition, the reader does not need to be in the library, just access to the Internet. The reader can view the exhibition at any time.

2. Possibility of exhibiting more documents than in a traditional exhibition, without taking up real library space. A large number of books can be presented at an exhibition; You can change them at any time by removing unnecessary ones and putting in new ones.

3. Each document can be accompanied by an annotation, an abstract, a copy of the table of contents and / or fragments of text, illustrations, the history of the creation of the work, a description of the era, audio and video clips. Computer technologies make the virtual exhibition lively and dynamic.

4. Documents presented at the virtual exhibition are not in danger of being damaged. You-bet on the Internet can function continuously.

5. The cost of creating virtual exhibitions is lower than for organizing similar traditional ones.

Among the limitations of the use of electronic book exhibitions are the following:

1.Not every PC meets the requirements to view you-bets. In the event of technical failures, the presentation of the exhibition and its viewing becomes impossible.

2. Not every library user has the necessary skills to get acquainted with the electronic book exhibition

3. Manufacturer book fair must have the necessary computer skills and artistic taste [savkin].

Typology of virtual book exhibitions

Virtual book fairs, like traditional ones, can be classified on a number of grounds:

By status - independent or accompanying a mass event (for example, when announcing a book on the Internet);

According to the intended purpose - to help study, to improve the general educational and general cultural level;

By the time of publication and receipt by the library of the materials provided for them - new arrivals, for different years, "forgotten editions";

By terms of functioning - permanent, long-term, short-term;

By types of publications - books, other types of publications (magazine or newspaper, etc.), several types of publications at the same time (complex), new media (CD-ROM, records, microfilms, video cassettes, etc.), multimedia applications;

According to the composition of the presented publications: an exhibition of one book, a series, a collection.

Virtual book exhibitions can be created both using the standard MS Office suite of office programs, and in online services for subsequent insertion of their HTML code into a blog or a link on a page on a social network.

There are various presentation forms of virtual book exhibitions(in parentheses are programs and online services for creating an exhibition):

1. Presentation ( power point, Slide Share)

2. Slide presentation (slide show) of covers and brief annotations for books with musical accompaniment (Power Point, Photopeach, Photosnack)

4. Exhibition of books in the form of an interactive poster (Power Point using hyperlinks, ThingLink).

5. An exhibition of books in the form of a mental map, a technique for visualizing thinking in the form of a map, in the center of which the main topic is indicated with branches extending from it in different directions keywords associated with it (Word, Power Point, Mindmeister, FreemindMap, Popplet).

7. Exhibition of books in the form of a 3D book (MS Publisher, Flip Book Maker, Flip PDF, ZooBurst Calameo Photosnack Myebook.

8. Exhibitions on a geographical map (Google Maps).

9. Exhibition - virtual board (Thinglink, Google Presentations).

10. Exhibition - poster (MS Publisher, Glogster, Thinglink, Playcast).

Approaches to the organization of virtual exhibitions are very diverse: from the already traditional, conservative form - the image of book covers and annotations of publications, to an animated journey into the world of the book. The exhibitions of the last type contain detailed information about authors, artists, lists of references, Additional Information from other Internet sites. Exhibitions no longer duplicate the traditional book exhibitions shown within the walls of the library. Often they start out as mini-sites.

When creating virtual exhibitions, design programs are used: Adobe Photoshop, FSViewer, CorelDRAW, ImageReady. When placing an exhibition on a website, blog, the HTML programming language is used. Scanning of covers, illustrations for recognition and editing of texts is carried out in the FineReader program.

Algorithm for creating a virtual book exhibition next:

1. Development of an electronic book exhibition model: choosing a topic, selecting documents, informational, illustrative, audio and video materials, drawing up an exhibition layout (you can draw an exhibition layout on a piece of paper).

2. Technical preparation of the project: photo or scanning of covers, illustrations, search for cover images on the Internet, preparation of text materials, trimming of audio and video fragments, saving preliminary materials in a separate folder.

3. Registration of works in the selected program or online service:

3.1. Exhibition in MS Power Point using hyperlinks:

The first slide contains a thematic picture, the name of the exhibition, as well as controls - transition buttons (i.e. books presented at the exhibition, which will be discussed in detail on the corresponding slide or topics, by clicking on which the user goes to the slide with a selection of publications by her).

Next, separate slides are created for each book (topic) listed on the first slide. For example: Slide 1 - "The work of modern science fiction writers: Sergey Tarmashev, Sergey Lukyanenko, Maria Semenova." Slide 2 - "Editions of Sergei Tarmashev." Slide 3 - "Editions of Sergei Lukyanenko." Slide 4 “Editions of Maria Semenova.

We make out hyperlinks - transition buttons. The first transition button is the inscription "Sergey Tarmashev" on Slide 1. Select the text block "Sergey Tarmashev". At the top, in the control panel, click "Insert", select "Hyperlink". Select “Link to”, then click on “Place in document” and select “Slide No. 2” from the list on the right - “Editions of Sergey Tarmashev”. Then, in order to return to the beginning of the exhibition and select the next book (topic) for viewing, we create a hyperlink to Slide 1 according to the following scheme: select a photo (or text fragment), which we will click on during the presentation to return to start of the quiz. Next, right-click and select "Hyperlink" - "Link to" - "Place in Document" - "Slide 1". Again we return to Slide 1 and repeat the same actions with the remaining names - “Sergey Lukyanenko”, “Maria Semenova”.

Then we add a design, animation (optional), set the display time: “Slide Show” - “Setting Times” and select the duration of each slide. Then press the F5 key and turn on the view mode. On the page with the description of the edition, you can also record a short audio explanation or attach a melody, sound effects.

When adding a presentation to a page in in social networks, it is necessary to write a scheme for viewing the exhibition, and when it is shown at the event, explain the rules and show it in the form of an interactive game. During the presentation, the reader selects a book, clicks on it with the mouse and gets to the page with a description of the selected publication. To return to the beginning, he left-clicks on the slide and returns to the first slide. The reader performs the same actions to view other publications posted on Slide 1.

3.2. Creating a virtual book exhibition in the Thinglink online service for inserting into a blog / page on a social network:

We go to the thinglink.com website, click "get started":

In the window that opens, select "Free" - free version, and press "Start":

In the form that opens, register the library: enter your data, name, e-mail, password. If you have a library account on Google, Facebook or Twitter, you can log in through them.

On the page that appears with the selected picture, we begin to create a virtual exhibition by clicking on the books with the left mouse button and adding annotations, descriptions of publications and other accompanying materials in the field on the left:

INTRODUCTION

At present, unfortunately, children's interest in independent reading is declining. The essence of the exhibition work is to open the library fund, to interest the reader, to encourage him to take some of the presented documents (publications). But today, to attract attention to the book, it is no longer enough just to put it on the exhibition shelf. After all, one of the key trends modern development human civilization is the formation of a new information environment. The technological base of this environment is made up of global computer networks, allowing you to access any kind of data anywhere and anytime. Consequently, librarians need to look for new forms of communicating information to their potential users, including through virtual exhibitions.

The objects of innovation in the library are as technological processes, so products and services. The use of multimedia technologies makes it possible to introduce innovations into the traditional activities of the library - exhibitions. A vivid example of this is the virtual exhibitions that appeared about 5 years ago and have become especially widespread in the work of scientific and university libraries.

Librarians point to the undeniable advantages of virtual exhibitions in contrast to traditional ones: the time of their holding is not limited, moreover, a virtual exhibition is available to the reader day and night - and not only for a strictly limited time, but constantly (in the archive).

Approaches to the organization of virtual exhibitions are very diverse: from the already traditional, conservative form - the image of book covers and annotations of publications, to an animated journey into the world of the book.

    VIRTUAL EXHIBITION

In the era of the Internet, the global network has become an important part of cultural life in general and the life of cultural institutions in particular. Today, library users are familiar with such services as electronic document delivery (EDD), virtual help services, virtual guides to Internet resources, online access to databases and electronic catalogs, thematic web projects. The era of modernization is also going through library exhibitions, adapting to the remote type of user service.

Electronic exhibitions are an actual product of library activity. They are the reaction of libraries to enter the open information space, are based on the use of multimedia and telecommunication technologies, allow the formation and maintenance of the image of the library, contribute to the development and improvement of library services.

The first virtual (electronic, interactive) exhibitions in the field of culture appeared in the largest museums in Russia -, , . Today, all major museums in Russia are actively working to create virtual exhibitions on their own websites.

In library practice, virtual exhibitions began to be used for the first time in scientific and university libraries of the country. As a rule, these are thematic annotated lists of new arrivals of books and magazines, which are accompanied by additional information: a photo of the book cover, information about the author, the history of the study of this issue, etc.

A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION is a public demonstration on the Internet using web technologies of virtual images of specially selected and systematized printed works and other media, as well as public electronic resources recommended for viewing, familiarization and use by remote library users.

The virtual exhibition, in comparison with the traditional one, provides librarians and readers with additionalfeatures and benefits :

    The use of information technology makes the virtual exhibition lively and dynamic. Bright, colorful, with animation, using game moments, switching attention from animated screensavers to a static page, virtual exhibitions are attractive to readers, and especially to children.

    A virtual exhibition is not limited by place and time - from any computer, anywhere and at any time of the day, you can get all the necessary information on this topic in full.

    The exhibition is designed for different audiences. Anyone can get to know her. The use of virtual exhibitions makes it possible for librarians to communicate remotely with readers, without being tied to the inevitable formalities in service.

    At a virtual exhibition, you can present a large number of books without taking up the real space of the library; there is no need to work with racks, stands, exhibition cabinets.

    The exhibition can be launched in automatic mode, equipping it with voiced text and demonstrating it without special accompaniment.

    Virtual exhibitions can be used as traveling exhibitions - it is convenient to demonstrate them in various educational institutions, auditoriums, classrooms, classrooms.

    You can not worry about the safety of the publications presented at the exhibition.

    Virtual exhibitions can function indefinitely and even permanently.

    It is possible to redirect the user to other resources by placing links to online stores where you can buy your favorite book; on Internet book search systems (such as), libraries that also hold this book.

    Placing an exhibition on the library website, as well as advertising links to it on other sites, allows you to increase the number of its visitors, and hence potential readers.

However, the virtual exhibition also has somelimitations.

    Creating and viewing a virtual exhibition requires a computer. Not every PC meets the requirements necessary to view the exhibition.

    Not every library user has the necessary skills to view a virtual exhibition.

    In case of technical failures, the presentation of the exhibition and its viewing becomes impossible.

    The producer of a virtual exhibition must have the necessary computer skills and artistic taste.

    STRUCTURE OF VIRTUAL EXHIBITIONS

A virtual exhibition, like a traditional one, should consist of sections that are accompanied by quotations, introductory articles, and illustrative material. The exhibition should be user-friendly in the web space and may contain the following information:

    visual (cover image, digitized parts of the book: preface, introduction, etc.),

    bibliographic data (bibliographic record and codes of the collection of the library presenting the exhibition),

    analytical information (abstracts, abstracts to publications, reviews, reader reviews, etc.),

    digitized parts of the book (chapters, most interesting excerpts, etc.),

You can also place additional materials on the theme of the exhibition:

    information about the availability of books in other libraries, online stores, etc.

Special requirements apply toregistration virtual exhibitions. The first slide should contain information relating to the virtual exhibition as a whole. All subsequent slides are separate exhibits of the exhibition. The visual range of a virtual exhibition is represented by illustrative material (book covers, spreads, illustrations, maps, photographs, etc.). The text itself, which accompanies and reveals the visuals, should consist of quotations, annotations, biographical notes. It is recommended to place hints and help messages at the top of the screen.

When using animation, two options for the display mode are taken into account: a free demonstration and a user-adjusted demonstration. It is advisable to use animation effects in relation to the entire text or its large fragments. The appearance of typewriter-like text slows down browsing time, and large text tires the eyesight. When using traditional drawings and photographs, it is important to choose the right scale and use the color palette well. In this case, if a graphic image is displayed on the screen along with text, it is recommended to leave 1/2 of the screen blank: the size of the details should correspond to the resolution of the screen and the sharpness of human vision.

There is a certain set of conditions thatvisual comfort of the user when working with information in electronic format:

    the brightness of the object should be within reasonable limits;

    the contrast of the image relative to the background must be chosen taking into account the size of the object: the smaller its size, the higher the contrast should be;

    The eye has the greatest sensitivity to yellow-green radiation, the least to violet and red;

    the size of the symbol must be consistent with the visual acuity of the person; it also affects the speed and correctness of perception of information;

    since the space of a virtual exhibition is limited by the size of the monitor, it should not be overloaded with special effects and color variety - the user's attention should not be scattered by distractions. The exception is exhibitions for children, who are attracted by colorfulness and animation effects. But still, you need to remember that the abundance of animation, photos, pictures increases the page load time.

It should also be noted that the creation of a high-quality, attractive and easy-to-view virtual exhibition involves the use of modern technology and software. There are a fairly large number of services that can help create virtual exhibitions on their sites. Here are some of them (in most cases, instructions for working with services are presented in English with the possibility of automatic translation into Russian):

    The service is good for creating simple but vibrant photo exhibitions.

    Using this service, you can create a simple and bright book photo exhibition or "bibliobanner" that can be edited at any time. In the banner, in addition to pictures, you can embed videos. (Cm. , obtained at the output.)

    The service allows you to create a voiced exhibition on the work of one writer or on a specific topic. The product is created in a simple way: links to videos from YouTube are inserted into the proposed form.

    The service provides opportunities to create a more complex and extensive exhibition, even if it is a single book exhibition (see below). ). It allows you to create detailed exhibitions with sections, quotes, illustrations. Here you can insert video, audio materials and text in Russian. In addition, the service is ideal for organizing the collective work of readers on the creation of an exhibition. Each of the participants can work on their own section of the exhibition.

    The service allows you to create a small exhibition-postcard on a separate work, using text, photos, music.

    Service for creating an exhibition-book. Can be created as , and entire virtual bookshelves.

    This service is an ideal option for creating an exhibition chronicle of the writer's work. Such an exhibition can be supplemented with illustrations, video materials, links, a map, and viewed in four modes to choose from: as a timeline; each event separately; list of events; event locations specified when the map was created.

    Service for creating a 3D book. As an option - the joint creation of an exhibition-fairy tale. To insert pictures, the ClipArt library is used, but you can also upload your own pictures.

    A service for creating a new generation exhibition-presentation, in which you can collapse all the material into one picture, and by enlarging one or another slide, focus on a specific text, word, image.

The virtual exhibition can also be placed on the library website in HTML format. It is good if the librarian, when creating an exhibition, works in alliance with a designer, an information technology specialist with web design skills.

When working on an exhibition, much attention is paid to design solutions: with the help of color, graphics, animation, it becomes possible to create a mood, attract attention, emphasize and highlight important points. The use of animated screensavers helps to make a virtual exhibition lively and dynamic. The use of flash technology makes it possible to use audio and video formats (that is, sound files and videos), to make exhibitions multimedia and interactive.

The multimedia content of the exhibitions will allow to solve meaningful problems more effectively, and the interactivity helps to attract and involve the reader in the world of the book, to create feedback. Interactive mode is an interactive mode in which a person and a computer exchange data. Having become acquainted with the proposed information, the user has the opportunity to: express his opinion, add his material, participate in the discussion online.

    COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE TRADITIONAL AND VIRTUAL EXHIBITION

We propose to consider a virtual book exhibition as an online service for a remote reader, i.e. a reader who has not come to the library, but uses our services remotely, and, therefore, wants to receive some information service without leaving your computer. When creating an exhibition, we determine: the goal, the end result. The task of a virtual exhibition is not identical with the task of a traditional exhibition, due to the features and capabilities of online technologies.

For convenience, consider the table of goals and functions of both types of exhibitions:

Traditional book fair

Virtual bookstore

Exhibition

1. Promotes the library fund

1. Promotes the book fund

2. Offers to be interested in the topic

2. Offers interest in the topic

3.Represents specific books

3. Represents specific books

4. Allows devise to get acquainted with the books presented at the exhibition

4. ----

5. Gives you the opportunity to take these books for work directly from the exhibition

5. -----

6. -----

6. Provides an opportunity to refer to other Internet resources on the topic

7. -----

7. It has the ability to provide additional information about the document in text mode: which library to take, where to buy, it is possible to obtain an electronic copy, etc.

Thus, a virtual exhibition does not allow the user to physically use the book, and therefore limits his ability to receive meaningful information. At the same time, the virtual exhibition allows the librarian to redirect the reader to additional information sources available on the web, or to suggest using other library services.

CONCLUSION

In this situation, libraries are losing their monopoly on the possession of information in a systematic way. Society has a choice between turning to a real library or turning to virtual resources of networks. And since obtaining data from the Internet is often associated with immeasurably less time and effort, the choice will increasingly be made in favor of the Internet. Such technological realities of the new information environment inevitably lead to a change in the content of library work. The library, of course, continues executing intermediary functions between information and the consumer, but is forced to adapt to new realities and change the forms of its services. The philosophy of library work will gradually change, moving from the principle of owning a document to the principle of possible access to it remotely. All this entails a rethinking of the essence of library activity, and the creation of an updated methodology of work. A change in methodology can be applied to both new areas of work and the oldest traditional forms of library service.

Even today, libraries are familiar with new services that are provided to the reader virtually, without physical contact with him. These are such services as: electronic document delivery (EDD), virtual reference services, virtual guides to Internet resources, online access to databases and electronic catalogs, thematic web projects. Next up is creation digital libraries, virtual service .

What is a "virtual exhibition" and what should it be like in a library?

There is no single answer to this question. Some believe that a virtual exhibition is images of paintings, books, other resources, press releases, information about works and authors. Others that this is a 3D animated journey with detailed information about authors, artists, lists of references, additional information from other Internet sites. Thirdly, that it is a synthesis of traditional, book and newest electronic ways of providing information to the library reader (free form of presentation)

There is no clear definition of what a virtual exhibition is yet, but with a certain degree of confidence we can say that this is a new, multifunctional information resource that provides a wide range of users with the opportunity to increase the efficiency of information search, expand the range of necessary materials (texts, graphics, audio, video, etc.). etc.).

In other words, a virtual exhibition is a public demonstration on the Internet using web technologies of virtual images of specially selected and systematized printed works and other media, as well as public electronic resources recommended for viewing, familiarization and use by remote library users.

Approaches to the organization of virtual exhibitions are very diverse: from the already traditional, conservative form - the image of book covers and annotations of publications in the Ms.Word document format, to an animated journey into the world of the book. The exhibitions of the last type present a variety of illustrative, audio, video material, bibliographic lists on the topic, etc.

The exhibition involves a virtual presentation of publications, revealing their content, as well as access to bibliographic, factographic, encyclopedic materials that exist in electronic form and are available via the Internet. Using, among other means, the possibility of Web - design - the next step in the development of the concept of virtual book exhibitions.

The exhibitions are no longer duplicating the traditional book exhibitions shown in the library, and are created specifically to be presented in an interactive form. Such exhibitions are made as mini-sites, where much attention is paid not only to traditional library methods of disclosing information about a book, but the possibilities of virtual space to attract additional species information.

The advantage of virtual book exhibitions is the opportunity to present publications without removing them from the shelf. Provide users with books shown at the exhibition and not limit the lifetime of the exhibition.

Unlike the traditional one, the virtual exhibition provides librarians and readers with additional opportunities:

1. use of information technology. Perception through a computer serves as a kind of bait for readers, especially children. Bright, colorful, with animation, using game moments, switching the attention of children from animated screensavers to a static page - all this makes the virtual exhibition lively and dynamic;

2. using the Internet makes it possible to get acquainted with the exhibition remotely, both in bulk and in the order of individual treatment;

3. mass character. More books may be on display;

4. variability. At any time, you can quickly change slides (frames) and their location, remove unnecessary ones or insert new ones, change the color scheme or the overall design;

5. autonomy. The work of the exhibition can be launched automatically, equipped with voiced text and demonstrated without special accompaniment;

6. mobility. Most often, virtual exhibitions are developed (organized) as traveling exhibitions. It is very convenient to demonstrate them in various educational institutions, classrooms, classrooms, simply by downloading to a USB flash drive;

7. profitability. Virtual exhibitions save space. There is no need to work with racks, stands, exhibition cabinets.

A virtual book exhibition, unlike a traditional one, does not have to consist of sections accompanied by citations and introductory articles. The exhibition should be user-friendly in the web space and may contain the following information:

visual (cover image, digitized parts of the book, etc.),

bibliographic data (bibliographic record and codes of the collection of the library presenting the exhibition),

Analytical information (annotations, reviews, reader reviews, etc.),

You can also place additional materials:

· Information about availability of books in other libraries .

There is a certain set of conditions that ensure the visual comfort of the user when working with information in electronic form:

The brightness of the object must be within reasonable limits;

The contrast of the image relative to the background must be chosen taking into account the size of the object: the smaller its size, the higher the contrast should be;

The eye has the greatest sensitivity to yellow-green radiation, the least - to violet and red;

the size of the symbol must be consistent with the visual acuity of the person; it also affects the speed and correctness of perception of information;

Since the space of a virtual exhibition is limited by the size of the monitor, it should not be overloaded with special effects and color variety - the user's attention should not be scattered by distractions. The exception is exhibitions for children, who are attracted by colorfulness and animation effects. But, nevertheless, you need to remember that the abundance of animation, photos, pictures increases the viewing time, and hence the perception.

More and more libraries, having mastered the traditional structure of a virtual exhibition, are trying to find new ways to publicly display printed works on the Internet in order to open their funds. Currently, playcasts (see above) and book trailers are becoming popular.

A book trailer is a free-form miniature video about a book. It includes the brightest and most recognizable moments of the work, visualizes its content. When creating a book trailer, you can use video, or you can get by with illustrations, photographs, scanned book spreads.

Presenting books to the reader and promoting book reading in the world cultural community, book trailers have become a separate original genre that unites literature, visual art and the Internet. Since 2012, the All-Russian booktrailer contest-parade has been held annually in Russia, in which libraries also take an active part. So, on the portal "Wiki. SibiriaDa", created in 2011 by the Novosibirsk Regional Children's Library as a free resource for the collective work of librarians, teachers - local historians, children, adolescents and youth on the creation, placement and preservation of materials from the Siberian region, today a remote "Training on creating book trailers" is organized.

Virtual book exhibitions have become widespread in libraries of all types - regional, municipal, special.

Today, to attract attention to a book, it is no longer enough just to put it on an exhibition shelf. Users are increasingly going to the Internet for the necessary information and the right books. Therefore, librarians need to look for new forms of communicating information to their users.

The use of multimedia technologies makes it possible to introduce innovations into the traditional activities of the library - exhibitions.

Virtual exhibition - public demonstration on the Internet using Internet tools and tools of virtual images of specially selected and systematized works of print and other media, as well as public electronic resources recommended to remote users of the library for viewing, familiarization and use.

Purpose of the virtual exhibition – public Internet presentation various kinds documents. Such an exhibition is mobile, compact, meaningful and is an up-to-date guide in a vast flow of information. Each exhibition is made with the help of an original multimedia design that simulates being at an exhibition, facilitating navigation and perception of information.

A virtual exhibition, in comparison with a traditional one, provides librarians and readers with additional opportunities and benefits.

Use of information technology makes the virtual exhibition lively and dynamic. Bright, colorful, with animation, using game moments, switching attention from animated screensavers to a static page, virtual exhibitions are attractive to readers, and especially to children.

The virtual exhibition is not limited by place and time - from any computer, anywhere and at any time of the day, you can get all the necessary information on this topic in full.

What tasks does a virtual exhibition solve in a library? By creating virtual exhibitions, librarians solve several problems at once:

· master a new type of work by applying digital technologies to the exhibition work of the library;

· keep the exposition for a longer period than a traditional exhibition provides;

· support the safety of the library fund by submitting the material in electronic form;

· enable the remote user to use the information resources of the library.

Types and forms of virtual book exhibitions:

· One book exhibitions

· Book collection exhibitions

· Presentation of covers and brief annotations for books with musical accompaniment

· Collection of book trailers

· Collection of audio recordings

· Exhibition of books in the form of an interactive poster

· Exhibition of books in the form of a mind map

· Exhibition of books of any author in the form of a timeline

· Exhibition of books in the form of a 3D book.

Unlike the traditional one, the virtual exhibition provides librarians and readers withadditional features:

1. use of information technology. Perception through a computer serves as a kind of bait for readers, especially children. Bright, colorful, with animation, using game moments, switching the attention of children from animated screensavers to a static page - all this makes the virtual exhibition lively and dynamic;

2. the use of the INTERNET makes it possible to get acquainted with the exhibition remotely, both in bulk and in the order of individual treatment;

3. mass character. More books may be on display;

4. variability. At any time, you can quickly change slides and their location, remove unnecessary ones or insert new ones, change the color scheme, or the overall design;

5. autonomy. The work of the exhibition can be launched automatically, equipped with a voiced text and demonstrated without special accompaniment;

6. mobility. Most often, electronic exhibitions are developed (organized) as traveling exhibitions. It is very convenient to demonstrate them in various educational institutions, classrooms, offices, classes;

7. profitability. Electronic exhibitions save space. There is no need to work with racks, stands, exhibition cabinets.

Thanks to the possibility of organizing permanent exhibitions, libraries can create cycles of virtual book exhibitions that operate simultaneously.

Structure

A virtual exhibition, like a traditional one, should consist of sections that are accompanied by quotations, introductory articles, and illustrative material. The exhibition should be user-friendly in the web space and may contain the following information:

Visual (cover image, digitized parts of the book: preface, introduction, etc.),

Bibliographic data (bibliographic record and ciphers of the collection of the library presenting the exhibition),

Analytical information (abstracts, abstracts to publications, reviews, reader reviews, etc.),

Digitized parts of the book (chapters, most interesting excerpts, etc.),

You can also placeadditional materials on the theme of the exhibition:

Information about the availability of books in other libraries, online stores, etc.

Special requirements apply toorganizing virtual exhibitions.

There is a certain set of conditions that ensure the visual comfort of the user when working with information in electronic form:

The brightness of the object should be within reasonable limits;

The contrast of the image relative to the background must be chosen taking into account the size of the object: the smaller its size, the higher the contrast should be;

The eye has the greatest sensitivity to yellow-green radiation, the least to violet and red;

The size of the symbol must be consistent with the visual acuity of the person; it also affects the speed and correctness of perception of information;

Since the space of a virtual exhibition is limited by the size of the monitor, it should not be overloaded with special effects and color diversity - the user's attention should not be distracted by distractions.

At present, there is no clear definition of what a virtual exhibition is. The textbook "Exhibition activities of public libraries" by N. V. Zbarovskaya gives the following definition: "A virtual exhibition is a new type of information and library service for users, a synthesis of traditional (book) and the latest (electronic) ways of providing information."

A virtual exhibition is a public demonstration on the Internet using web technologies of virtual images of specially selected and systematized printed works and other media, as well as public electronic resources recommended for viewing, familiarization and use by remote library users.

The virtual exhibition is positioned as a new, multifunctional information resource that provides a wide range of users with the opportunity to improve the efficiency of information search, expand the range of necessary materials (texts, graphics, audio, video, etc.).

The first virtual exhibitions appeared within the framework of the project of Internet resources of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia. The resource assumes the placement of information in Russian and English on virtual exhibition stands (mini-sites) for the promotion and exchange of business information about enterprises and organizations, their products and services. graphic and video materials.

3. The producer of a book exhibition must have the necessary computer skills and artistic taste [savkin].

Typology of virtual book exhibitions

Virtual book fairs, like traditional ones, can be classified on a number of grounds:

By status - independent or accompanying a mass event (for example, when announcing a book on the Internet);

According to the intended purpose - to help study, to improve the general educational and general cultural level;

By the time of publication and receipt by the library of the materials provided for them - new arrivals, for different years, "forgotten editions";

By terms of functioning - permanent, long-term, short-term;

By types of publications - books, other types of publications (magazine or newspaper, etc.), several types of publications at the same time (complex), new media (CD-ROM, records, microfilms, video cassettes, etc.), multimedia applications;

1. Presentation (Power Point, Slide Share)

2. Slide presentation (slide show) of covers and brief annotations for books with musical accompaniment (Power Point, Photopeach, Photosnack)

4. Exhibition of books in the form of an interactive poster (Power Point using hyperlinks, ThingLink).

5. An exhibition of books in the form of a mental map, a technique for visualizing thinking in the form of a map, in the center of which the main topic is indicated with keywords associated with it extending from it in different directions (Word, Power Point, Mindmeister, FreemindMap, Popplet).

The exhibitions of the latter type contain detailed information about authors, artists, lists of references, additional information from other Internet sites.

When adding a presentation to a page on social networks, it is necessary to write a scheme for viewing the exhibition, and when it is shown at an event, explain the rules and show it in the form of an interactive game.

In the window that opens, select "Free" - the free version, and click "Start":

In the form that opens, register the library: enter your data, name, e-mail, password. If you have a library account on Google, Facebook or Twitter, you can log in through them.

On the page that appears with the selected picture, we begin to create a virtual exhibition by clicking on the books with the left mouse button and adding annotations, descriptions of publications and other accompanying materials in the field on the left:
